Four Scholarship Programs Offered by YTB for Citizens Living Abroad
The Presidency of Turkish and Related Communities (YTB) announced scholarship programs in four different fields to support the education and academic studies of Turkish citizens living abroad. The scholarships aim to increase the number and the quality of the studies done on the challenges encountered by our citizens. Youngsters will also have the opportunity to further learn their native tongue and Turkish culture through these scholarships.
The Presidency of Turkish and Related Communities (YTB) announced scholarship programs in different fields to support the education and academic studies of Turkish citizens living abroad. The programs will also enhance youngsters' sense of belonging to their country by making them active individuals. Scholarships will also lay the foundation for future projects that can produce solutions for the challenges encountered by Turkish citizens abroad. The following scholarships will contribute to raising Turkish citizens abroad as role models: “Thesis Research Scholarship for Citizens Abroad”, “Success in High School Graduation Exam Awards Program for Foreign Citizens”, “Turkish Teaching for Turkish Children in Abroad Master’s Program” and “Fuat Sezgin Excellence Award Program for Citizens Living in Abroad”
SUCCESSFUL HIGH SCHOOLERS ABROAD ARE AWARDED
The number of students successfully completing their high school education abroad has been increasing day by day. In a bid to reward these youngsters, YTB announced the program of "Success in High School Graduation Exam Awards Program for Foreign Citizens." Through this program, our young citizens will participate more in their classes and experience mild competition with their peers.
Turkish citizens who graduated between the dates of April 15, 2018, and June 10, 2019, can apply to the scholarship. Applications will be evaluated according to the high school completion exams such as Abitur, Baccalauréat, Matura and diploma grades in their respective countries. Each Embassy or Consulate General will award the student with the most successful grade point average. In total, 56 foreign representative offices in 17 countries are expected to offer awards. Applications can be made via " basvuru.ytb.gov.tr” and will be closed June 15, 2019.
ACADEMIC SUPPORT BY "FUAT SEZGIN EXCELLENCE AWARD PROGRAM"
YTB awards candidates successful in their academic education by Fuat Sezgin Excellence Award Program for Citizens Living in Abroad. Within the scope of the announcement 2019 as the year of Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin, the scholarship will support successful candidates who are registered in or graduated from undergraduate, master's or doctorate programs in the field of Science and Engineering Sciences, Health Sciences, Social and Human Sciences. The candidates who have already graduated from their programs can apply to the scholarship within maximum 1 year after graduation. After the award ceremony, YTB will organize a trip to the Jerusalem free of charge for the winners on the date to be determined later. ACADEMIC STUDIES ON THE PROBLEMS OF OUR CITIZENS WILL INCREASE
In addition to these programs, YTB also initiated “Thesis Research Scholarship” to support the education and academic studies of citizens living abroad. The scholarship aims to increase the number and quality of academic researches about the challenges faced by citizens living outside of their motherland. Furthermore, the program is expected to contribute to the academic and intellectual life of the country that the Turkish community resides in. YOUNG GENERATIONS ABROAD WILL LEARN TURKISH IN A CORRECT AND EFFECTIVE WAY
"Turkish Teaching for Turkish Children in Abroad Master’s Program" is among the scholarships declared by YTB to train educators who are needed to teach Turkish to the children living abroad. In this regard, YTB signed a protocol with a range of long-established and innovative universities including Akdeniz University, Hacettepe University, Necmettin Erbakan University, Sakarya University, and Yıldız Teknik University. Educators who completed this program will play a significant role by effectively and accurately teaching Turkish language and culture to the immigrant children after they return to their country of origin. Thus, future generations will be equipped with basic language skills such as reading, writing and speaking. The deadline for the program is June 10, 2019.
