President of Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) Abdullah Eren came together with Turkish lawyers living in Belgium at the "Belgium Lawyers Meeting" organized at the Embassy in Brussels.

YTB President Abdullah Eren stated that they aim to improve public procedures for citizens living abroad through their work in the field of law. Emphasizing that citizens should know their rights in the countries they live in, Eren stated that citizens should definitely seek their rights, especially if they are exposed to hateful actions or discourses. Eren reminded that they prepared an "anti-discrimination guide" for this purpose and established the "NESAM" website for citizens to report such attacks. Underlining the need for reporting in the fight against such attacks, Eren said that data collection as well as follow-up is important.

Drawing attention to the high number of Turkish lawyers in Europe, Eren said, "The most important thing we care about is to create a legal network, especially to raise awareness about seeking rights." Emphasizing that YTB supports citizens and associations in symbolic cases in Europe, Eren underlined that although there are data available, it is lagging behind in reporting the attacks, therefore YTB attaches special importance to creating a network of lawyers.
